Single-sided LCD panel -18,5"
The VCS 185cA LCD-based on-board passenger display unit is designed for installation in public passenger transport vehicles as an internal passenger information system. The display unit is a widescreen LCD panel with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The panel is controlled via Ethernet bus. This allows easy direct remote data updating, e.g. with our on-board computers of the EPIS 4.0x series. and 5FCC.

Where slower bus types (IBIS or RS 485) are available, the panel content can be very easily replayed via USB Flash (automatic update in a few seconds).
Features
The VCS 185A passenger LCD panels, compared to other display units, have a standard price for connection to our EPIS on-board computers. This enables remote servicing and data playback using SPRINTER software directly from the central control room. The connection between the passenger LCD panel and the EPIS unit is made via a UTP cable.
Energy saving
The panels are designed to save energy during idle periods. To this end, the panels have the following options - they can be connected only to the CS wire from the on-board computer (switching is thus controlled from the on-board computer. Another supporting option is the MSN (Minimize 24 V network) command, which is intended to minimize power consumption during times when nothing needs to be displayed but it is advisable to keep the LCD panel on standby.
By activating the command sent from the EPIS 4.0x on-board computer over the Ethernet bus, the VCS type LCD panels can be switched to a power-limited state where their full function is not required, i.e. the LCD displays are switched off while the control system PC continues to operate. This is an advantageous feature especially in two modes:
- final, where during a short shutdown, only the LCD displays can be switched off while the PC LCD panel continues to operate and can be activated at any time
- when recording vehicles, unless the LCD panel is connected to a separate power supply branch
