Double-sided LCD panel - 2 x 21.5"
The VCS 215-Bx series of on-board passenger display units based on 21.5″ LCD displays are designed primarily for installation in public passenger transport vehicles as an internal passenger information system. The VCS 215-Bx double-sided in-vehicle unit displays passenger information on two opposing LCD displays.
The display units are widescreen LCD displays with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio with an extended lifetime of 50,000 hours. The LCD panel can be controlled using all types of buses (Ethernet, RS 485 or IBIS), but for speed reasons we recommend using Ethernet. If the LCD panel is equipped with GSM communication (UMTS or LTE modem), it can also be controlled from the ad server medium.
When controlled using the slow IBIS communication bus (1200 bit/s), the internal LCD display essentially replaces the internal LED panel, e.g. VLP 20×120. For the case of connection using slower bus types (IBIS or RS 485), the contents of the LCD panel can very easily be played back manually using a USB Flash (automatic update in a few seconds).
The automatic remote data update can be done e.g. using our EPIS 4.0x series on-board computers or EPIS 5 FC on-board computers and RADON vehicle management software (part of SPRINTER software). Another option is to access a server somewhere where an FTP server is running (routing must be done by the vehicle equipment). If this is not available, an update USB can be used.
To create scenarios (individual displayed sections) on the route on the LCD panels while driving, we supply specialized software - CityScreenInfo. The software has a graphical user interface that allows simple and quick management and creation of scenarios for CityScreen type LCD panels.
Extensible SW functions:
If required, the unit can be further extended with SW functionality:
- Advertising message dissemination, i.e. when the passenger connects to the vehicle's Wi-Fi, e.g. the user is shown an advertising banner with the option to enter and leave. If the user chooses to enter, he/she will be taken to the desired website, if he/she chooses to leave, he/she will be free to surf the Internet.
- Online access for remote setup of front page advertisements.
- The ability to monitor the functionality of the VCS unit remotely - on-line monitoring of the unit with the option to turn off the unit until the next time the unit is powered up.
- Possibility to provide secure communication to internal vehicle systems - on-board computers, check-in, etc.
- monitoring of activity feedback, i.e. evaluation of connection statistics (how many people connected, from which devices, at what time, etc..).
