Power supplies from overhead lines

The power supply units for the stop signs consist of a set of switching and safety elements, BSV-PS 1x ballasts and a voltage converter from the overhead line to low voltage +24V with a current of up to 40A. Their main task is to convert the traction voltage 600V - 1000V to low voltage +24V, while also resisting voltage fluctuations caused by recuperation.

The power supply blocks can be used to power trolleybus or tramway switch boxes, for switch lubrication systems and for powering bus stop information panels. They can also be equipped with battery back-up power - battery capacities range from 12 Ah to 130 Ah, depending on the design.

Basic features of the block in terms of protection design:

  • Possibility of battery backup power supply,
  • Input terminal block for power supply connection,
  • fuse disconnector to guarantee disconnection of the input power supply,
  • surge arrestor for both poles of the power supply,
  • protective ballast
  • 780-480 VDC to 24 VDC converter,
  • output module to switch the output voltage from the inverter or battery and to ensure charging of the batteries,
  • a power pack condition monitoring unit and ventilation control,
  • output power terminal block.
