HERMAN delivered and installed 50 RGB panels as part of the project "Informatization of public transport in Žilina - new stop information panels with voice output", which was implemented for the Transport Company of Žilina.

In December 2022, Ing. Ivo Herman, CSc. won a public tender for the supply of 50 electronic bus stop information panels for the Transport enterprise of the city of Zilina, Ltd. Although there was less time for the execution of the contract due to the long evaluation procedure, the delivery was made on time (even a few days in advance).

The project included the delivery of 50 pieces of fully coloured stop panels and the preparation of project documentation for their connection to the overhead line. Securing approval from the railway authority was also an integral part of the project. The panels specified by the client contain an integrated camera, which is part of the camera system, which was also part of the delivery, including the server part. In addition to these, the panels integrate blind voice message playback using automatic reading technology, known as TTS, brightness control according to ambient light and full integration to the control room.

Technical solution:

A total of 38 RGB panels in single-sided design with 5+1 line size, 4 RGB panels in double-sided design with 5+1 line size, 4 RGB panels in single-sided design with 8+1 line size and 4 RGB panels in double-sided design with 8+1 line size were delivered. The vast majority of the panels (48 pieces) are installed on selected traction poles or lighting poles and these are also fed from the overhead line. 2 pieces of panels are installed on separate poles with 230 VAC power supply.

HERMAN was able to complete the contract on time, even though it had to deal with an extremely tight timeframe for implementation. There were also problems in the delivery of electrical components and the fact that a key part of the production work entered the holiday (vacation) period. We also had to deal with the integration of a completely new management method, which was only introduced during the project. We must also highlight the excellent and constructive cooperation with the Transport Company of Žilina, which provided quick feedback and cooperation, without which such an event would have been very difficult to follow.

With the implementation of the public contract, HERMAN confirms its dominance in the field of supplying bus stop systems for public transport.
